Annual LIHEAP Action Day
February 23-24, 2021
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation representatives Arnell Willis, Customer Care Procurement & Training Manger; Eileen Cassidy, Manager, Customer Experience & Quality; Mike Scher, Manager, Customer Care – Back Office: Collections; and Debbie Smith, Community Engagement Manager, attended the LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) Action Day 2021. LIHEAP Action Day sponsored by the National Energy & Utility Affordability Coalition (NEAUC). NEAUC is a national coalition of like-minded advocates committed to heightening the awareness of energy poverty. This year, the annual LIHEAP Action Day was a two-day virtual event championing the U.S. Congress to maximize fiscal year 2022 funding for LIHEAP.
Attendees from various organizations thanked legislators for their support of increased LIHEAP funds. Our colleagues were able to share some information about our SHARING program, and were invited to participate in advocacy training discussions with legislators and aides from the offices of Delaware U.S. Senator Christopher Coons and U.S. Senator Tom Carper; and Florida U. S. Representatives Scott Franklin and Darren Soto. Well done, team!
