Aspiring Scholars

As the first semester comes to an end for the school year, we wish all the best to our 2019 Aspiring Scholars as they start the next chapter of their academic journey!

Through our Aspiring Scholars Program, 10 Chesapeake children of Company employees had been selected to receive scholarship funds toward their studies at an accredited college, university or post-secondary education technical school.

“Our employees make up the Chesapeake family and by extension their families are very important to us. Recognizing both the importance of higher education and the financial challenges associated with it, we are honored to present these scholarships to help support these young people reach their fullest potential.”

Beth Cooper,
Executive Vice President and CFO, and Chair of the Aspiring Scholars Committee

An appointed Scholarship Selection Committee comprised of Chesapeake employees from throughout our business locations reviews information provided by each of the scholarship applicants who are graduating high school seniors. Committee members provide their recommendations for scholarship winners based on each applicant’s academic record, extracurricular accomplishments, two student essays, leadership qualities, work experience, citizenship, community involvement and letters of recommendation.
