Callahan Pipeline Project
Peninsula Pipeline Company owns and operates several intrastate natural gas pipelines throughout seven counties in Florida, and provides natural gas transmission service that links interstate pipelines to local distribution systems, industrial customers and power generation facilities. In May, 2019, Peninsula Pipeline with Seacoast Gas Transmission began constructing the Callahan Intrastate Pipeline, a 26-mile natural gas transmission system in an unserved area of northeast Florida. The Callahan Intrastate Pipeline lays the foundation to serve areas not yet accessible to natural gas. As a result of this project, we will be able to offer our communities energy options that are more environmentally friendly while providing opportunities for economic growth. The project is on schedule to be in service by the fourth quarter of 2020.
“This project is a major joint effort between Emera’s Seacoast Pipeline and Chesapeake Utilities’ Peninsula Pipeline Company to facilitate the growth in northeast Florida. This new pipeline will serve the tremendous industrial, commercial and residential growth in Nassau County, Florida. It will also provide increased supply to the rapidly growing Port of Jacksonville.”
