Robert West, Manager of Gas Conversions, Sandpiper Energy

At Chesapeake, we recognize how employees embody our shared values and incorporate these values in their everyday interactions. Robbie West has been with the Company for 12 years and continuously represents Chesapeake with his stellar performance and honorable disposition. Robbie always welcomes collaboration and camaraderie with colleagues and ensures reliability and innovative solutions for our customers.

Prior to his current role, Robbie was a Service Technician for Sharp Energy in Georgetown, DE. In 2013, he began working for Sandpiper Energy as a Conversion Coordinator. Then in 2017, Robbie was promoted to Manager of Gas Conversions where he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the conversion project in Ocean City and Ocean Pines, MD.

“Over the years, it has been plain to see Chesapeake’s commitment to and care for its employees and customers. I have enjoyed my previous roles as well as my current role and it has been a pleasure being a part of Chesapeake. Seeing the growth within our Company and especially being part of such a major project as the conversion project (in Ocean City and Ocean Pines, MD) has been very rewarding.”

Robbie West, Manager of Gas Conversions

Since Sandpiper Energy’s inception, Robbie has had the opportunity to be part of the conversion project in Worcester County, MD. He has assisted with the writing and implementation of the policies and procedures within the conversion manual as well as other key procedures in which Sandpiper Energy has adopted into the process. As Manager of Gas Conversions, Robbie has been tasked with reviewing and updating these policies and processes on an annual basis.

Being integral in the conversion project has allowed Robbie to personally connect with peers, customers and vendors through the daily operations and the challenges that may arise during the project. Robbie has had the privilege to work alongside the same team since Sandpiper Energy began the conversion project five years ago.

There have been many instances during the conversion project where Robbie has gone above and beyond the norm.  He and his team have converted numerous restaurants and hotels that have required overnight and weekend work to avoid interrupting their normal operating business hours.  When Robbie is not working, he is dedicated to spending time with his family and is involved with many community initiatives.

“As a father of five children, my children’s activities and interests all too often become my activities and interests. Activities such as church, functions, Little League, Cub Scouts, football and gymnastics are all ways in which my wife and I along with our children have made personal connections within the community.”
