FPU was presented the opportunity to develop a presentation for the local Boy Scout Troop in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida regarding energy conservation in the home. The scouting program began a sustainability badge that scouts may work toward earning. The badge is called, “Building a Better World.” Scott Ranck, Senior Energy Conservation Representative, crafted a presentation for the scouts titled, “Building a Better World, The Responsible Use of Energy.” This included how our homes use energy; the origin of that energy; how much energy our city, country and world use; and how that energy is generated or delivered. The presentation also explores energy topics that need addressed, such as the incorporation of renewable energy sources and energy storage.
